Youth Programs

Overview

Project Kinship’s youth services are designed to uplift, empower, and guide young people through some of life’s most critical transitions, from re-entry after system involvement to school-based support and personal development. Our integrated approach centers on healing, opportunity, and community, ensuring every young person has access to the tools, relationships, and environments they need to grow and thrive.

Through programs like the Youth Transition Program (YTP) and WAGEES 24, we support youth and young adults as they re-enter their communities following involvement with the juvenile justice system. Our teams provide advocacy, individualized case management, and re-entry support tailored to each participant’s goals, offering services such as mental health and substance use counseling, life skills coaching, academic support, and workforce development through paid internships, GED training, and milestone incentives.

In schools across the county, our Restorative Practices Intervention (RPI) Specialists partner with districts to create inclusive, trauma-informed campuses where students feel safe, connected, and supported. From restorative circles and mediation to mentoring and caregiver engagement, we work collaboratively to reduce exclusionary discipline and strengthen school climate.

At the heart of our youth services is the Kinship Center, a welcoming drop-in space for young people to access resources, build leadership skills, and connect with caring adults and peers. With weekly programming, enrichment activities, workshops, and community events, the Kinship Center serves as a hub of possibility, creativity, and belonging.

Together, these programs form a comprehensive youth-focused ecosystem that fosters connection, growth, and transformation, supporting young people not just in navigating challenges, but in building brighter futures.
