Workforce Programs

Overview

Project Kinship provides a trauma-informed, healing-centered workforce development program for justice-impacted adults. Our services support individuals at various stages of re-entry, including those preparing for imminent release or navigating post-incarceration life. While we offer specialized programming for Transitional Aged Youth (TAY), ages 18–24, through our WAGEES 24 (Work and Gain Education & Employment Skills) initiative, our mission is to serve adults of all ages. We work to remove systemic barriers, foster healing and personal growth, and create clear pathways to sustainable employment and educational opportunities.

Rooted in Healing. Built on Opportunity.

At Project Kinship, we believe that every person deserves a second chance—and the tools to succeed. Through WAGEES 24 and our comprehensive workforce services, we walk alongside our participants as they rewrite their stories and rebuild their futures.

WAGEES 24 - LCCL

The WAGEES 24 program at Project Kinship is a transformational reentry pathway that empowers individuals to rebuild their lives with confidence, purpose, and support. Youth are paired with credible messengers who serve as mentors, advocates, and role models—guiding them through challenges and fostering a sense of community, purpose, and belonging.

Through tailored services, WAGEES 24 provides:

  • Paid internships, apprenticeships, and work experience

  • One-on-one intensive case management for personalized goal planning and barrier reduction

  • Weekly life skills groups that build confidence, resilience, and independence

  • GED and credential training

  • Financial literacy and employment readiness

  • Tuition, transportation, and other critical resources

The program celebrates milestones such as completing education, gaining employment, or achieving personal goals, with incentives that recognize progress and fuel motivation. WAGEES 24 creates personalized pathways to success and long-term stability, one story at a time.

Employment & Education

We work closely with employers and educational institutions to promote fair chance hiring and inclusive learning environments. We recognize the complexity of re-entry. To support long-term success, we provide:

· Basic needs assistance (e.g., food, clothing, hygiene products)

· Transportation support

· Referrals to mental health and recovery services

· Legal advocacy and expungement assistance

· Navigation of systems like probation, housing, and financial aid

Participants may enroll in paid transitional work experience programs that offer:

· On-the-job training

· Resume-building experience

· Structured support and supervision from mentors with lived experience

Our goal is to connect individuals with opportunities that are both meaningful and sustainable.
